Shank sizes are stored as a positive number for metric sizes and a negative number for inch sizes.
Metric sizes are in hundredths of a mm and inch sizes in sixty fourths of an inch.
For example, a shank size of 1200 represents 12mm and -16 represents 1/4 inch.
